 Private Party General Information
Poison Ivy Mysteries, L.L.C. is a Murder Mystery Theatre Company that produces high quality, affordable entertainment for Corporate and Private Parties. We believe in providing memorable, professional entertainment that will leave your employees or clientele satisfied and entertained. You provide the venue, dinner and prizes and we take care of the rest. We have a couple of audience participation parts and are more than happy to write in bits that are specific to people or events/products unique to your company. The prizes are provided by your company and can be anything you desire. The whole thing takes about 2 hours without dinner and about 2 hours 40 minutes with dinner (depending on the dinner situation.) Our shows have original music, scripts and we employ professional actors. We are willing to travel to you…wherever that may be. Pricing is based on your group number, but if you are outside of the Salt Lake Valley, we will charge an additional travel fee. We will arrive 2 hours prior to show start time to setup. We require a “stage area” of approximately 12 feet by 12 feet. You are required to provide the prizes for your winners if you so choose to do this. We recommended 3 prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We require at least 2 outlets in the room. You are also required to provide seating and tables for your guests. You will also provide the dinner for your guests, either buffet or sit down service. A couple of things to keep in mind: We strive to make the evening as fun and memorable as possible. We have found that in order to provide the most successful event possible that it is better that you prepare your guests for what they will be coming to. Please let them know that this is a Murder Mystery and that actors will be talking to them. Depending on how you want to “invite” your employees, we have some “information” packets (electronic or printable) that really help prepare your employees for the night ahead. They let your guests know what to expect and how to be successful at mingling and solving the crime. We are also open to incorporating employees or “bosses” into the show, if you so wish. If you want to let us know a bit about what your company does, we love to incorporate that information into the show as well. Anything that will make the experience enjoyable for your guests. Service If you choose to do a sit down dinner, the evening will progress as follows: We will need to coordinate with the caterer or restaurant to ensure that we are on the same page. We will need the salads/appetizers set as the guests come in and find their seats. The actors will “mingle” with the guests while they are getting in and settled. This takes about 20 minutes. Once all of the guests are in and settled, the servers will bring out the dinners and show portion of the evening begins. There will be scenes with singing and dancing and some audience participation parts until one of the actors are “murdered.” At this point, the guest will need to get up out of their seats and question the suspects with “clue” cards that will be provided for them. Once they have figured out who did it, how it was done and why, they will turn in their answer cards to our stage manager and the servers will bring out the desserts (setting them on their tables during questioning). The actors will perform the finale and then will hand out prizes to the winners. It is up to you to determine how many prizes you want to hand out and some companies have handed out prizes for funny answers as well. |
Buffet If you choose to do a buffet dinner, the evening will progress as follows: As the guests come in, they will head straight for the buffet line. We prefer if you have a one time through buffet so that the guests aren’t getting up and down in the middle of the show. However, we have had situations where there is an appetizer buffet during mingling and then service which would served to them at their tables and would follow the previously outlined explanation. Either way, the actors will “mingle” with the guest while they are getting in with their food and getting settled. This takes about 25 minutes. There will be scenes with singing and dancing and some audience participation parts until one of the actors are “murdered.” At this point, the guest will need to get up out of their seats and question the suspects with “clue” cards that will be provided for them. Once they have figured out who did it, how it was done and why, they will turn in their answer cards to our stage manager. Some companies have chosen to have the desserts on the buffet at the initial go around and if this can be arranged, it is preferred. However, if you want the desserts on the buffet line at a different point, this would be the time to do it. After everyone is back in their seats, the actors will perform the finale and then will hand out prizes to the winners. |
